Miyagima – Maya

Today we went to Miyajima. There were lots of adorable little deer wandering around. I patted some of them. Their fur was slightly hard and spikey. Some of the deer had small antlers. The antlers were softer than the deers fur.

We walked up a hill and saw a pond with lots of orange, white and black splodged fish in it. When we got down the hill we walked through the streets for a bit. They were very pretty.

After seeing the streets we went onto the beach. Unfortunately I was wearing my sandals so I couldn’t feel the sand on my feet. At the end of the beach there was a grassy spot with some trees. There was a picnic table in the middle of the trees so we sat there for awhile. When we got up we did a nature walk with lots more trees.

Along the way there were some cool temples and a garden pathway with little statues of men all doing and holding different things.

At the bottom of the walk there was a wooden walkway. It was raised off the sand a little bit. The walkway had a brown roof with bright orange poles holding it up.

Whilst walking over the walkway we saw the orange Miyajima Tori gate. The bridge is famous for looking like it’s floating at high tide and it really does.

When we tried to find somewhere to have dinner most of the places were closed. After walking through more streets we eventually found a restaurant to have dinner at. The dinner was yum! I shared vegetable tempura and stir fried vegetables with Zoe. After dinner we walked to the ferry port. On the way we saw more deer.

Once we got off the ferry back at Hiroshima we headed to the train station. On the way to the Miyagima ferry port in the morning we caught the 50 minute tram. But on the way back we caught a train which was faster. When we got back to our apartment I went to sleep because it was late.
